About me
I’m a teacher-turned-UX designer based in Philadephia.
I grew up in Shanghai (a metropolitan city in China🇨🇳 ) and was fortunate enough to experience both eastern and western cultures from a young age. My ability to see objects, people and situations from multiple perspectives comes from that. I try to bring diversity and inclusion to my designs.
Before UX
Before transitioning to UX, I was a classroom teacher and an E-learning designer, where I learned to observe, empathize and collaborate. I have a decade of experience teaching and designing learning experiences for different-aged learners.
I was a star teacher ⭐️ in a language immersion program and was featured on the news channel.
Why UX?
With years of experience using education technology tools in my class, I saw the good and bad of UX design. I began to wonder: how might I design more effective learning tools? I became increasingly interested in human-computer interaction. I self-taught coding and took a course for instructional design and technology, and eventually, I found UX. The rest is history.
Today, I find myself continuing my journey as a UX designer. My goal is to design user experiences that improve people’s daily life, one bit at a time. My recent project was designing a mobile app that improved parent-school communication and engagement.
